Today I am sharing another post in my series packing list: Weekend Travel for a Wedding. Wedding weekends are so much fun yet packing for it can be challenging. I approach packing for a weekend wedding like I pack for a weekend away and simply add wedding activity specific attire.
There are some things I like to consider and explain those in more detail below. First, I’m sharing what I’d bring to a wedding:
Packing for a Weekend Wedding – Tips and Tricks
Traveling in leggings or sweats is a comfortable and great way especially if you’re sitting for long times. I certainly have done this before. I like to elevate my look a little, especially in summer and currently wide legged pants are my favorite option. Extra bonus for an elastic waist. I personally prefer a darker option like these linen pants.
If you are in the wedding, a button-up shirt is a must in my opinion. This way, you can easily take it off even after hair and make-up are done. I like to wear my clothes as long as I can before putting on the fancier dress – less chance of spilling before photos. This short sleeve– or this long sleeve shirt would be a great option. I also recommend bringing a tote bag. Even better if you have one that you use during the flight or drive.
Of course, there’s the rehearsal dinner or if you’re out of town you might want to just go out by yourself. A cute summer dress is my go-to for that. I like a simple maxi dress or if you’d like to elevate it this dress is a great option.
Making a long weekend out of it? Bring clothing for any activities that you plan on doing. If you’re in the mountains, you might want to go for a hike or bike ride. If hiking is included, I love these hiking pants that you can also convert to shorts, or if a more stylish hiking jogger is more your style, I recommend these.
Always check if your hotel has a pool – if there is one, I always like to bring a swimsuit. Even if it’s just in case. As I always bring slippers on any travel, I simply make sure they’re ones that can be worn to the pool too. I love the EVA Arizona Birkenstocks for their versatility.
Especially for this trip, don’t forget your make-up. Still looking for inspiration, check out my soft-summer makeup inspiration, or my everyday makeup post and add the little extras in.
